This article will guide you through the necessary procedures to deal with situations where your KIWI Pen may show signs of humidity or liquid inside.
Standard Screening
If you suspect that your Pen has liquid residue inside, proceed as follows:
1. Check for the presence of liquid:
As a first step check for liquid inside the Pen when the Pod is not inserted.
As a second step, ensure that the Pen pins and Pod contacts are dry.
2. Check the USB-C charging port:
Plug and unplug the power cable into the USB-C port to check for liquid on both the Pen's USB-C port and charging cable.
3. Liquid Removal:
1. Cover the Pod slot with your finger.
2. Wrap the area around the USB-C port of the Pen with your other hand to avoid direct contact.
3. Blow inside the USB-C port to see if liquid is leaking from the charging contacts on the back of the Pen.
Drying and Repeat
If liquid is detected, please follow these steps to dry the Pen.
Repeat step 3 several times throughout the day to ensure that the Pen is completely dry. This may restore proper functioning.
Regular maintenance
It is mandatory to inform yourself about maintenance and cleaning of the device. Liquid seepage is often caused by insufficient maintenance or wear and tear on the Pod.
Remember to wipe condensation residue in the Pen daily with paper towels or KIWI Clean Stick.
Replace the Pod after a maximum life cycle of 10 days to avoid liquid leakage.
If the malfunction persists at least 12 hours after proper drying, please contact our service centre.
